Can You Hear Me Now?

Can You Hear Me Now?

This question was made famous by Verizon Wireless to demonstrate how good their cell coverage was. I just wonder if we ever stopped to think about how good God’s communication coverage is working on the earth today?

Psalms 94:9 - “He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?”

To the seven churches of Asia, in the book of Revelation, Jesus admonishes them in this manner, “He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Do you think that the Lord Himself might be asking, “CAN YOU HEAR ME?”.

There are times when we may forget how truly human the Lord was. In times like these, it is good to think about Jesus, the man. As the song goes, “Do you remember when you walked among men? Well Jesus, You know if you're looking below, it’s worse now than then.” The verse ends with, “So for my sake, teach me to take, One Day at a Time.”

Do you think that He really knows what you are going through? He knew trouble, trials, heartache, rejections, misunderstandings, disrespect, ungratefulness, disappointment, betrayal, and the ultimate quarantine in Hell for three days, which would have been like three thousand years in eternal time. Jesus knows our hearts, and Jesus understands how we feel. I always say, “If I know, then He knows, and then I know everything is going to be OK.” HE KNOWS!!!

Can you hear Him now, is a great question, in that, “Now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed.” It is in times like this that we need to do an EKG of our own hearts. Is your lifestyle the result of rule-keeping, or a relationship you have with the Lord? He looked, not just on your personal scoreboard, but on the things that were the inner issues of the heart. I was preaching in a church years ago that had a time clock on the back wall. The only problem was, the clock was broken and the hands were not moving. It was not the hands that were not working. It was the mechanism inside that was no longer working. Jesus called attention to this issue often. That is why He said that just mere religious outward observance was not how you judged a man. It was the inward man of the heart that needed attention. IT IS A LOT EASIER TO OBEY RULES THAN IT IS TO LOVE PEOPLE.

GayNell and I are praying for you daily, and if you need us to pray for you personally, don’t hesitate to call.

Once again, thank you for your prayer and support. We appreciate you more than you know and can’t wait to be back together again.
