FUTURE NOTE

Do you realize that Christianity is the world’s best proclamation of the sovereign rights of each and every individual? Christianity celebrates the value and worth of each person. John teaches us how valued we are to God, Chapter 10:3, “HE CALLS US ALL BY NAME.” The Bible tells us of the Lamb’s Book of Life, which is filled with names and not numbers. On the other hand, John, when writing Revelation lays down a future note for those who live in the end of days. “And no man might buy or sell, save he that had… the number.” Your name is important to God. Looking into the scripture, isn't it great to see God calling people by their name? It helps me to realize my value to God. I am not just a number to him. That is why I call this a FUTURE NOTE. Always remember, you are not just a number.

“Saul, Saul”, God called out to him. God knew his name and changed it to Paul. What about Elijah, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” All of my life I have watched as people struggled to say my name for the first time; but, when I was a child like Samuel, I heard God call my name. The result is that I have never questioned if God knew me or not. Mary’s experience with God was certainly not an impersonal one. “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you!”

The world is becoming far more impersonal; and yet, in the family of God, we are still brothers and sisters in Christ. You are not a number. You are valued, loved, and appreciated. God loved you first, even before your mother and father did. The system will make a number out of you and say you belong to it; but God bought us with a price, and He still calls His sheep by name.
