The political climate needs a little heating up. This, my friend, is “throw back Tuesday” so to speak. SO, IT IS TIME TO HEAR A VOICE FROM THE PAST.
"It is alleged by men of loose principles, or defective views of the subject, that religion and morality are not necessary or important qualifications for political station. When a citizen gives his vote to a man of immorality, he abuses his civic responsibility. He sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, and he betrays the interest of his country." - Noah Webster
"If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded." - Noah Webster
"In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate - look to his character." - Noah Webster
WHERE IS NOAH WHEN YOU NEED HIM?
It makes you think of another Noah, and we do not even know his last name. You may recall that Jesus made reference to him in Matthew 24:37-39: “The arrival of the Son of Man will take place in times like Noah’s. Before the great flood everyone was carrying on as usual, having a good time right up to the day Noah boarded the ark. They knew nothing—until the flood hit and swept everything away...”
I heard about a religious group that wrote the imminent return of the Lord out of their fundamental beliefs. "If that servant says in his heart, My Lord delays His coming; and shall began to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink, and to be drunken; the Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looks not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware...”
You probably would not believe what happened to him, even if I told you. Read Luke 12:45 through the end of the chapter, and maybe you will have more than a notion. Many still speak from their grave just as Abel does in Hebrews 11:4. “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead still speaks.”
Did you know God is a grave robber? In the book of Ezekiel 37, He made an army out of the bones of dead men. God is looking for men and women who have died to self to create His end time army!
