THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU

I agree with Billy Graham who said, “Every generation is strategic. We are not responsible for the past generation, and we cannot bear full responsibility for the next one; but we do have our generation. God will hold us responsible as to how well we fulfill our responsibilities to this age and take advantage of our opportunities”

This past year in November, as I was in a season of prayer for Heritage, the term Redeem Team 2016, popped into my mind. It was one of those moments when my curiosity sent me on a fast forward search of Scripture, where the word redeem is highlighted.

A doctor friend of mine, who is a pediatrician, shared a funny story with me during the holidays. He said a woman came in to his practice, and when she was asked what the occasion for her appointment was she gave a hilarious answer. She told them she wanted them to check her newborn child’s BIBLICAL CORD. I am still chuckling when I think of it.

As I did a word search in my mind on the idea of a Redeem Team, I could not help but remember how grateful I was for the 365 people of Heritage, both young and old, who in September, volunteered and worked so diligently during the “99” outreach which is still reaping a harvest. We literally became a BIBLICAL CORD, a life line thrown out to the several thousand who came . It was a Redeem Team in the best sense of the word, and you who worked can still can remember the joy of serving together and seeing God touch the lives of hundreds of people. Each of you showed your willingness to be a team player, and we all have seen the results of what happens when we corporately come together in mission.

A pastor’s wife sent me a text saying she wanted to know about building a Redeem Team. The verse that is fuel for our passion is found in this verse, “Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? “Father, save me from this hour”? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour” – Jesus Christ (John 12:27)

Jesus was on the verge of the mighty act of redemption, and the temptation was to spare Himself; however, as our Commander in Chief of the Army of God, we cannot shrink back from the task at hand. We must, “Redeem the time for the days are evil”.

We have 23 areas of employment where you can serve in reaching, teaching, and keeping the lost. In the entrance hallway we have a place for you to sign up and join the REDEEM TEAM 2016.

“I know my Redeemer lives.”
