WHY I PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS

WHY I PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Dear Family and Friends of Heritage Fellowship,

I was so happy to be back home with you this weekend after our trip to Winnipeg, where we participated in the AWAKE MANITOBA CONFERENCE.

We were the guest of Raymond McClain who was recognized for his Apostolic work among the First Nations People and for his labor as the representative to the nation of Israel for Canada. There was an awareness of the Providential Presence of God right from the first gathering. Lenny Hernandez and Richard Jones were key in what happened. The Spirit of God used them in a powerful way, breaking down the influence of religious systems that had violently oppressed the First Nations brothers and sisters who had joined from across Canada to be a part of what God has planned.

Ken and Cara Hall, from Bismarck, North Dakota set the pattern for the meetings in the first workshop. The Holy Spirit took over for the rest of our time together. In the last session of the conference the abuses of the First Nations came to the forefront. We have all heard some of the atrocities that people groups have suffered but the gut-wrenching, breath-taking testimonies of families and individuals who suffered at the hands of religious systems to eradicate a people group is more than a heart of love can endure.

Several months ago, we had a visit one afternoon from Apostle McClain and the Moose family. Little did we know that from that meeting, we would later be invited to their AWAKE MANITOBA CONFERENCE. They had visited the Ark Encounter as well as the ancient revival landmarks in Kentucky. They were following the road to Revival that started in the Red River Meeting House and Cane Ridge located down in Bourbon County near Paris, Kentucky. This is where the camp meetings that swept across America had their beginning. The influence of these revivals has had a lasting effect upon our nation. They were on vacation, but led by the Spirit of God, they desired to take back to Manitoba the hunger and anointing from these ancient places of outpouring.

My life was impacted by the passion of the leaders that gathered with us in these sessions. There were chiefs, their children, and great, great grandchildren of those who signed treaties with the British and Canadian governments only to suffer at the hands of those whom they had made treaties with. Some were in the conference who, as children, were forced to go to what they called Indian Residential Schools. They were legislated in partnership with the Government, Catholic, Anglican, and Baptist Churches. It was known as, “KILL THE INDIAN, SAVE THE MAN.” Their hair was cut off, uniforms were mandatory, languages and customs were outlawed. I had read about some of these atrocities but hearing them from actual victims 70 years old and older became more of a reality. These matters are still being investigated and addressed today. Some may not know that the same thing is being uncovered in the USA.

These realities are still on my heart, and I am sure you appreciate me sharing them with you. This is why we pray to the one and only. This is why we pray in Jesus’ name to Him who sits on the throne.

WHY I PRAY IN JESUS NAME

There is a guarantee when we pray in His Name:

1. THE ACCESS CODE

Ephesians 2:18 “For through Him we both have access by one spirit unto the Father.”

2. THE ASSOCIATION OF OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FATHER

Ephesians 2:19 “Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God.

3. WE HAVE A GIVEN AUTHORITY; THE NAME OF JESUS GIVES US
AUTHORITY TO MAKE OUR PETITIONS TO THE FATHER

John 16:24 “Hither to have ye asked nothing in my name. Ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

4. THE POWER OF AGREEMENT. (SAY WHAT GOD SAYS BACK TO HIM)

JOHN 15:16 “You didn’t choose Me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to Me, He gives you.”

5. I PRAY IN HIS NAME. (THE NAME ABOVE EVERY OTHER NAME). BECAUSE
THERE IS A BLESSED ASSURANCE ASSOCIATED WITH HIS NAME.

John 16:23 “What soever you ask the father in my name, He will give it to you.”

GOD SAID IT, I BELIEVE IT, THAT SETTLES IT!

I AM PRAYING FOR YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
